Quiet Day

As expected, it was raining lightly this morning and continued until early afternoon. No one showed up except for Drew (landscaping) who just wanted to check the progress. He confirmed they would not be starting the flat work until the slate and brick are completed.

The only excitement was when the cupolas arrived. They were in two crates. I called "Our" Mike when they arrived and he and Nate came over. They uncrated them at the curb and carried them to the sunroom. Each cupola broke down into three pieces, which made them possible to carry by hand. The only really heavy parts were the copper clad tops. The crates themselves accounted for much of the total 1,160 pound shipping weight. We also received the finial for the sunroom cupola and the weather vane for the garage. They look good.

Mike said the solar guys were expected today, but they never showed. He also said that he wanted to get the new basement door installed before we left on our cruise.
