"Concrete" Mike and crew showed up at 6:30 am this morning. "Our" Mike and Nate along with John (HAC) showed up around 7:00 am. By 9:00 am they had the first load poured into the garage. Around 10:00, the thunderstorms we missed in the early hours arrived with a vengeance. We probably got a couple of inches of rain in an hour. They continued with the pouring however. They put up some plastic sheeting over the bay in the sunroom.
John mentioned that he did put a pressure test on the sunroom circulation tubing this morning and it passed.
In all, Mike said they poured 22 cubic yards of concrete. Mike assured me that they would slope the bay area floor over to the floor drain. They did not finish and leave until nearly 7:00 pm.
I asked Mike if we were ready to get the cabinetry maker (Bob) started. He said "yes". Subsequently, I sent Bob a note telling him the walls are framed, the roof is on and we are pouring the floors today. I suggested that we set up a time for him to come out and meet with us, Mike and Tyler (architect) to finalize the cabinetry design and get his measurements. Bob responded that either this coming Thursday or next Monday would work for him. Mike suggested doing it on Monday. Tyler finally responded saying it would be best for him to meet late on Monday.
I told Mike that we have placed the order for a 36" sunroom cupola and I ran by him the notion of buying the Xpelair exhaust fan and mounting it in the cupola. I showed him the spec sheet and he thought it looked good. I sent a note to the cupola manufacturer along with the spec sheet to see if they had any thoughts on the matter.
With the new concrete in the garage, it appears Mike got a hold of Bret (roofer) to get his people back over to finish the south face of the garage. They showed up around 1:00 pm. I looked at the ceiling stains that T had noticed yesterday. They do not seem to have gotten any large due to today's rain. I mentioned these stains to Mike.
"Concrete" Mike told me that the sunroom floor was going to dry very slowly because he did not put any calcium in the mix due to the weather forecast (supposed to be sunny this afternoon) and because the ground insulation was not allowing any moister to drain. The floor in the garage is drying well due to its being poured on gravel.
I had asked Mike to ask Mike if they would divert a little bit of concrete to fill in the area in the basement where the old hot water heater had been positioned. They did it.
